I have not yet hosted any of my sites here but I also purchase my domains here and it is very, very cheap! I may give the hosting a try one day though.
I have heard of these people before, but I can’t remember how. It’s nice to know that they are doing their bit for the environment! I wonder how many other companies are green web hosts? Anyway 9 million people can’t be wrong!
Contact the company first to find out for sure. They might deduct the cost of the domain name from any refund you receive.
What happens if we go off their shared hosting? Do we still get to keep the domain name for free?

My only complaint is that the process to switch your domain to a different host can take up to a day. Is that normal with all hosts? I figured it’d be instant!
I’ve been using 1&1 since 2004. I started building sites there in college and now use it professionally. BUT I do not HOST on here. I just buy my domain here. It’s VERY cheap compared to others, and you can transfer ownership to which ever hosting place you like. Bueno!
